I have a cassette of me & my dad when I must have been 5-6(??) and I'm singing this boppin' little ditty:

Walkin' thru the bushes, walkin' thru the bushes, walkin' thru the bushes...BONG!!!!

Walkin' thru the bushes, walkin' thru the bushes, walkin' thru the bushes...BONG!!!!

Then my dad starts to join in for a rousing 3rd verse, but I quickly scold him: "DAD! That's the end!"

Ron, you really need to hear the Raunchy Young Lepers. Kid music -- and Tualatin, Oregon -- will never sound the same to you ever again.

I used to write mournful ambient music. Really. I had a Yamaha keyboard and I'd just sit and drone the minor chords all day.

Me and a friend (both aged 11) had a group called 'Static' (yamaha keybd and maraccas) and a song called 'Static Rap'. it rocked! in an embarassing kinda way.

There was a kid who was the neighborhood bully and my friends and I. The S.A.P. (Sunrise Ave Posse) made up this PHAT Rap.

"Don't mess with the Daigs or I'll break your fuckin legs, Don't mess with the Daigs or I'll break your fuckin legs"

We also scored a hit with "White Trash, You are white trash..."

Wow, let's see: I wrote a song about how some people were going to blow up an adoption agency. I wrote one about Ashley Judd called "That Girl on TV" because I didn't know who she was. I wrote one about how I couldn't watch TV in Mexico because everything was in Spanish. I wrote one about how I was jealous of the no-talent poseur who had the girl I wanted, but to the tune of Rush's "Trees" (wonder how that would've played out in person). I think I was much more straight forward when I was a kid.

Would Dan retell his 'Tiger Tiger Burning Bright' story, please?

i used to sing along with carpenters' songs and play a home made tambourine. when i grew older i started to write my own stuff too, but by then i knew i was a no-talent freak, so why bother, really? :) my sister and me used to put on shows for my granny. we'd dance and sing along with the beatles. and i still have that tambourine.

I have tapes and tapes in my attic of me and my Casio (and later my Roland monosynth) droning away about girls who don't fancy me from around the age of 13 onwards. I also wrote a song when I was six, according to my gran, which went 'On Monday morning I woke up, it's raining, it's raining again' which has haunted me to this day.
