SYDNEY, Australia, April 29 (AP) — Keith Richards, the seemingly indestructible guitarist for the Rolling Stones, fell out of a palm tree while vacationing in Fiji and was hospitalized in New Zealand with a mild concussion, local news reports said.
Mr. Richards, 62, was injured earlier this week and flown to a New Zealand hospital for treatment, Fran Curtis, a spokeswoman for the band, said in a statement on Saturday.
"Following treatment locally and as a precautionary measure, he flew to a hospital accompanied by his wife, Patti, for observation," Ms. Curtis said.
The statement did not elaborate on Mr. Richards's condition or explain how he was injured. But news reports in Australia and New Zealand said the guitarist hurt his head after falling out of a palm tree at an exclusive Fiji resort and remained hospitalized in Auckland.
(... or was it a jet ski?)
