I love the Afghan Whigs Gentlemen album but haven't really got into the Twilight Singers until now. Upon first listen I'm impressed and will visit this one again and hopefully again. What is ILM's thoughts?

Fantastic. Best Dulli since Gentlemen.

Denis Leary just called this record "the best rock album of the past 20 years" on Craig Ferguson. I am curious (kinda).

powder burns is amazing, balls off the walls rocker. Not to mention coming tour...if you've never seen Dulli take the stage only listening to the cd's it's like having only seen fireworks in picture books, the man is a natural showman. I could go on forever about this album, it's so good. 'i'm ready' is the beginning track to any night out on the town...a mantra to follow. 'forty dollars' is to modern alt rock what 'waiting for my man'(velvet underground) was to early rock, confessional, dark and tortured. start to finish dulli and the twilight singers tear it up.

Yes, very good album.

It's not bad. It's the most Whigs-ish any of his Twilight material has sounded so far, but the hooks are dull and the sound is mixed really thin.

Where was all this celebrity/mainstream interest for the last two (better) albums?
