TOK10 - this covers album the japanese idol band TOKIO did to celebrate their tenth anniversary a couple of years ago, unexpectedly wonderful, especially their version of hikaru genji's 'paradise ginga' in the style of pizzicato five (OMG) and this subtle shuffly wooden-music-box-plays-'budapest' cover of toshihiko takara's dakishimeteTONIGHT that I keep looping over and over and dancing in my chair to.

okay, i really like the mix in my CD changer right now, and am too lazy (or strung out on hay fever) to change it (at least one of these CDs surprised me, because at first I thought I hated it) (and I DO hate some of it, but I will not tell you which one it is):

Grupo Exterminador - *Ahora Con Los Huevos En La Mano*
Hacienda Brothers - *What's Wrong What's Right*
The Jazzabillies - *Show Me: Kickin' Western Swing*

I Try To Live (Can I Live) by Ricardo Villalobos. First time I'm ever listening to Alcachofa, as I just got it on saturday at that, I seemingly have never seen it in Toronto all my life, (I got it in New York by the way)

Thomas Mehlt (Tokyo Ghost Stories), Wednesday, 10 May 2006 01:06 (nineteen years ago)

my brother sent me a link to the espers album that you can play for free and now i am a devout espers fan. sounds wonderful:

human adult band (from a split cassette with penis in vagina)

-- GOD PUNCH TO HAWKWIND (el.sabo...), May 9th, 2006.

Awesome. I know those guys from the New Brunswick days. Two friends of mine used to be in the band, but they either aren't anymore or they've recently gotten back with him and I didn't know.

Where did you pick up the split?

Abbadavid Berman (Hurting), Wednesday, 10 May 2006 02:44 (nineteen years ago)

Abbadavid Berman (Hurting), Wednesday, 10 May 2006 02:53 (nineteen years ago)

How's the Neil?

Rickey Wright (Rrrickey), Wednesday, 10 May 2006 02:55 (nineteen years ago)

yeah, i'd be curious about what you think stormy. my mom likes it, which makes me a bit fearful.

electro-acoustic lycanthrope (orion), Wednesday, 10 May 2006 03:01 (nineteen years ago)

i'm working the neil young heartbreak groove with comes a time, zuma, on the beach and tonight's the night.

electro-acoustic lycanthrope (orion), Wednesday, 10 May 2006 03:01 (nineteen years ago)

I like the Neil so far. It's definitely raw, but, you know, it's a nice flipside to Prairie Wind in that way. thing is, it's really not "preachy" or anything; he's not browbeating the listener or anything -- he's only haranguing one guy: that dipshit in the oval office.

and I think the horns are a real nice touch! sure wish it was Crazy Horse on the rest of it, tho..

Stormy Davis (diamond), Wednesday, 10 May 2006 03:07 (nineteen years ago)

(album is dedicated to Phil Ochs, Bob Dylan, and his family)

Stormy Davis (diamond), Wednesday, 10 May 2006 03:08 (nineteen years ago)

wow .. "Flags of Freedom" is almost a straight rip-off/homage of Bob's "Chimes of Freedom"

Stormy Davis (diamond), Wednesday, 10 May 2006 03:14 (nineteen years ago)

Tartu Popi ja Roki Instituut's Madise margikogu (Forwards)
