80s style house track - "Hold on. Hold on"

I was in the gym today and heard an 80s style (or it may have actually been from the 80s, the speakers weren't at their best) euphoric house track, with a Luther Vandross style vocal singing (this is the start of the 2nd verse) "Hold on, hold on, our children will see I'm a much better guy(?!)" and the chorus was a group of people singing "Get on up off the street" (maybe)

Nope, I just listened to a sample. The song I heard was faster than that and had was full of fake 80s piano synths. Plus the only chorus was a gospel crowd singing one sentence over and over again.

nah, it's not 80s, it's "world hold on" by bob sinclair. and the line is "world ... hold on ... children of the sky"

Heard it on the radio today. This turned out to be either the original, or a remix of "Put Our Heads Together" by The O'Jays.
