Going to Albuquerque.....any good record stores?

Not so much. I live there (in college, going back soon). Natural Sound has a pretty good selection of used CDs, but they don't carry any records, and their prices are ridiculous (6-9 for used CDs, Sam Goody pricing for the new stuff). It's probably worth checking out though.

Charley's is smaller, but it's another option. They carry records and I've seen some cool stuff, but it's a pretty limited selection. Occasionally, the store burns really bad smelling incense.

The place that sells the most records is probably Mecca. I haven't seen that much good stuff there, but you can check it out if you want.

Then there's some chains like Hastings and Wherehouse that occasionally have some good used stuff.

Bow Wow, how I miss the snark of your counter folks.

I used to score tons of promos in the used bins there back in the day, and was tempted for months by the Japanese import of "Kiss My Arp", which came out long before the domestic copy.

In my experience, none of our thrift stores are particularly good for records. (They're not bad for books, clothes, or random crap, though.) I've found some okay stuff at Thrift Town (near Menaul and Central), and at the Goodwill clearance center (on San Mateo), but that's hardly normal.

I agree on the crap high prices at Natural Sound. I like buying things there, but I usually end up getting things at Borders, when I have a coupon.

Wow, 4 "posters" from Burque. I guess I'm the 5th (although I'm more of a lurker then a poster). Didn't realize we had so many obsessive music fans here. Who are you people? My name is Jon and I play in Cobra//group.
