leper messiah, now THATS a weak track (for that album anyway).

everything else on that record is pretty awesome if you ask me (though the first side is of course slightly better).

There's no doubt that MoP is a great album, but it does have its weak tracks: Damage Inc and, indeed, Leper Messiah. And these are worse than the lower points on the other three albums.

Metallica were simply never that good at the faster songs (esp compared to their peers Kreator/Megadeth/Dark Angel/etc).
