I'm a bit surprised there isn't a thread about this already...

Anyway, it sounds like Bow Wow Wow or The Go Gos or something lol. Certainly not what I was expecting. It's so damn catchy though:

First Cassie: The new Ciara?

who else are you street teaming for?

YSI's are banned on ILM btw.

Brigadier Lethbridge-Pfunkboy (Kerr), Saturday, 13 May 2006 01:52 (nineteen years ago)

Oh, that explains why there isn't a YSI thread anymore...

And I'm not a street-teamer.

The Brainwasher (Twilight), Saturday, 13 May 2006 01:53 (nineteen years ago)

Don't worry. Crap joke. Just ignore me. I'm just in a bad mood because my internet connection has been fucking up all night and nothing will load or if it does it takes ages no matter what site.

Brigadier Lethbridge-Pfunkboy (Kerr), Saturday, 13 May 2006 01:57 (nineteen years ago)

It's an absolute classic! With GUITARS and shit!

"Heartbeat" = Stacey Q revival = BLARG!
"The Crush" = Go-Gos revival = Rockin'!

Mr. Snrub (Mr. Snrub), Saturday, 13 May 2006 02:16 (nineteen years ago)

Sounds more like a Beat Happening song.

Tim Ellison (Tim Ellison), Saturday, 13 May 2006 02:40 (nineteen years ago)

I love Annie's music so much, but the Go-Go's best singles were way better than "The Crush". It just doesn't really have a hook. Richard X, where are you???

i'm from hollywood, Saturday, 13 May 2006 04:48 (nineteen years ago)

there's a Richard X version of it too

pinder (pinder), Saturday, 13 May 2006 05:48 (nineteen years ago)

Wow really? Could you email it to me?

The Brainwasher (Twilight), Saturday, 13 May 2006 06:03 (nineteen years ago)

It sounds like the Shaggs after ten music lessons : Great!

snowballing (snowballing), Saturday, 13 May 2006 08:41 (nineteen years ago)

is the richard x version streaming somewhere?

Daniel Gelfer (gelfball), Saturday, 13 May 2006 10:02 (nineteen years ago)

On what shitty planet are the Go Gos better than Stacey Q? (not that the Go Gos are particularly bad, they just have nothing on Stacey, and certainly not Suzy, Q. Not a big fan of 'The Crush' but looking forward to hearing the Richard X remix and very very much looking forward to hearing her version of 'Two Of Hearts'. Are there any 'external websites' that are likely to be hosting either of these anytime soon?

Affectian (Affectian), Saturday, 13 May 2006 16:03 (nineteen years ago)

On what shitty planet are the Go Gos better than Stacey Q?

Don't try and pull that with me, dude. (I vote equal rather than obvious superiority one way or another.)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 13 May 2006 16:05 (nineteen years ago)

I'm from hollywood OTM.

D. Bachyrycz, Saturday, 13 May 2006 16:21 (nineteen years ago)

I got the Richard X remix from a YSI link that's now expired. Furthermore, it's on my work computer.

But I do remember that it's more poppier than this rockier full band version

pinder (pinder), Saturday, 13 May 2006 17:36 (nineteen years ago)

The Crush = Drink the Elixir by Salad

(that's a good thing btw)

j0e (j0e), Saturday, 13 May 2006 20:08 (nineteen years ago)

two weeks pass...
Anyone know when this is coming out? I need to hear that RX remix something fierce.

James.Cobo (jamescobo), Wednesday, 31 May 2006 18:15 (nineteen years ago)

Bizarrely enough, if you google this (at least today) an active YSI link is like the third or fourth result.

I couldn't find a working link, but I did find the proposed 12" cover and OH ANNIE, YOU'VE WON ME OVER AGAIN:

That is a pretty great cover.

All Dim Mak remix 12"s have that same art layout.

Well, the posting didn't work, but take my word ~ it even has the same arrow pointing to "Weird Science" in LA, which I think is Moving Units members' remix name.

Tiki Theater Xymposium (Bent Over at the Arclight), Wednesday, 31 May 2006 20:44 (nineteen years ago)

Ah, well kudos to the art person at Dim Mak then.
