Martin Fry of ABC is gigging in my town. Should I be frightened?

I spent my teenage years in the '80s, so this club concert has some nostalgic appeal to me. But will "ABC Featuring Martin Fry" be a good show or a letdown? Anyone seen him perform lately?

we're not talking about another bad creation, are we? because it could be somewhat off-putting to hear guys in their mid-twenties rapping about playing nintendo with an perpetually twelve-year-old Iesha.

Sorry, but I absolutely have no idea what you're talking about. I'm just wondering if Fry performing "The Look of Love" might be entertaining with the proper amount of alcohol consumption.

I am pretty sure it will be a letdown if you are expecting some kind of 80s brilliance. If you are just looking for a night of nice nostalgia, I guess you may safely attend.

ABC's last proper album wasn't a total disaster. I side with Geir that it'll be a fun night out with minimal expectations. On a related note, a friend of mine with parallel musical tastes recently opined that, of all people, The Fixx were unexpectedly good on their recent tour. That's one that I wouldn't have bet ten cents on...

That's funny, because The Fixx is supposed to be playing this same bar, but not for a few more weeks. I may have to check that out.

Unsurprising though. I saw The Fixx back in the 80s and they were pretty outstanding live even then.

I saw him live a couple of years ago. It was fun, and they sounded pretty good still. He still wears a gold lamé suit.

I saw them last night,(May 19th, Boise, Id.) and they were great! Martin Fry definately can still sing! I took some AWESOME pics, and got Marty to sign my 'Lexicon' album cover. Tee hee! I feel like a teeny-bopper again!
