Dance/electronica/experiment in New York City: what? where?

Can anyone tell me what's happening in New York City when it comes to anything electronics related: experimental electronica; drum'n'bass; breakcore; techhouse; clicks'n'cuts; techno, etc.

From my position here in London, NYC often disappears from the map, but there must be more going on there than I know of. Any names of labels and organisers/promoters would be excellent. thanks!

robotradio do parties with good lineups. I've never been to NY though so i'm sure a local will have more of a clue.

I think these people:

just opened a store or something.

For electronic music at Tonic, go straight to the source:

three years pass...

Don't know where else to put this/if it has been posted (it was on gawker so it's no obscure find or anything), but I was alerted to a very entertaining and really interesting 1983 feature on new york nightlife, replete with footage of the Paradise Garage, Arthur Baker, people talking about the impact of Afrika Bambataa in the present tense, etc. . .

It's pretty good quality, videowise, so I'd recommend watching it on youtube
