Feel free to make this a C/D//S/D thing.

I used to hang out with BOHJ. We met when I was recording The Poison Boyfriend at Chocolate Factory, the studio they also used in New Cross, where they lived. They had a truly bohemian little cell there. I loved the Brecht-Weill feel. Their first EP 'The Big Ship Sails' was wonderful. I found the first full-length, 'More Tales FromThe City' a let down. It was kind of half-assed Pogues. Later they came back with 'Tracksuit Vendetta' which sounded a bit more Fallish. But by then there was little interest from the music press or the public, and they scattered. I still see Karel, the viola player, in Munich. He went to Berlin and ended up dating Christiane F! Haven't seen Johnny for a while. He was always at squat parties, and was supposed to be scripting a Channel 4 piece about his Newcastle roots. Don't know if it ever happened.

two years pass...
I'd really like to hear more about - and indeed from, as their early work's not really in print - this group... possibly some kinship with It's Immaterial, I'd surmise?
