Thomas Tallis (Tommy), Sunday, 21 May 2006 15:01 (nineteen years ago)

I know of a guy who sold the Afghan Whigs' Big Top Halloween vinyl for $100 when he was broke. He is one of their biggest fans.

Z, Sunday, 21 May 2006 15:33 (nineteen years ago)

All of my Tom Waits.

joseph cotten (joseph cotten), Sunday, 21 May 2006 15:50 (nineteen years ago)

It's worth about $150 or so, but it's terribly hard to find.

I could never sell my Tom Waits :(

gwolfcow, Sunday, 21 May 2006 17:04 (nineteen years ago)

slay tracks for $85 bucks about six years ago. I wonder what it's worth now.

Jacobo Rock (jacobo rock), Monday, 22 May 2006 13:51 (nineteen years ago)

hmmm, i've still got *demolition plot j-7*; what's that worth nowadays? (but that reminds me -- i used to own copies of both of the first two minor threat 7-inch EPs, and for some reason i kept *in my eyes* but got rid of the other one. thing is, my copy of *in my eyes?* has scotch tape on its sleeve. that'd be another thread, i guess: "why the hell did i scotch-tape THAT 45 sleeve when i was feeling obsessive-compulsive"? does anybody know how much scotch-tape reduces the ebay value of old minor threat 45s? i'm curious.)

Ooh, I've got one of those. And the 12" version.

mark grout (mark grout), Monday, 22 May 2006 14:01 (nineteen years ago)

black and white rickenbacker 360, left handed - bought on the never never, sold for a song. still miss that guitar

dr x o'skeleton, Monday, 22 May 2006 14:04 (nineteen years ago)

I have that Little Johnny Jewel 7" as well, picked it up 4-5 years ago in NYC. It's so mint I suspect a bootleg reprint. Either that or it must have been a pretty massive warehouse find.

zaxxon25 (zaxxon25), Monday, 22 May 2006 14:05 (nineteen years ago)

Hanoi Rocks back catalogue on coloured vinyl. :-(

The Minimal Criminal (kate), Monday, 22 May 2006 14:06 (nineteen years ago)

What Scott said, but especially my first guitar.

Keywords: revenge, knife, granddaughter, demonic-possession, rock-star, eel (Aus, Monday, 22 May 2006 14:09 (nineteen years ago)

I had "Little Johnny Jewel" on 12-inch (on Ork, I would assume, but maybe not since I bought it in England I think), but that's gone too.

xhuxk, Monday, 22 May 2006 14:12 (nineteen years ago)

Monkees Missing Links Volume 3. Also 1 and 2 and Head and Headquarters.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller 68), Monday, 22 May 2006 14:14 (nineteen years ago)

It was on Ork in England, it had a short-run life here as a label.

mark grout (mark grout), Monday, 22 May 2006 14:18 (nineteen years ago)

Peanut Butter Wolf's "Run the Line" 12". A lot of other hip hop stuff from the mid/late-nineties.

mcd (mcd), Monday, 22 May 2006 14:44 (nineteen years ago)

When I was 12 years old, I had a suburban whiteboy identity crisis when Dr. Dre made nihilistic drug music the predominate (therefore populist, therefore unappealing) culture... and I sold all my hip-hop tapes at a yard sale!

Things I ended up missing the most:
Cash Money And Marvelous - Where's The Party At?
Three Times Dope - Original Stylin'
Kid N Play - Gettin Funky
Sir Mix A Lot - Swass
Eazy-E - Eazy Duz It

I grew my hair long and bought a bunch of Ministry and Talking Heads albums. When I turned 15 or 16, (1995/1996 around when Goodie Mob, Lost Boyz, Busta Rhymes, ODB did their first singles) I slapped myself in the forehead and have been trying to buy everything back since!

Whiney G. Weingarten (whineyg), Monday, 22 May 2006 15:22 (nineteen years ago)

Oh yeah, that reminds me: Fortunately I kept most of my (old old) old school hip-hop collection. But now that I've got a kid obsessed with graffiti, I've been sad that I got rid of copies of the Futura 2000 and Fab Five Freddy ("Change The Beat", I think) 12-inches on Celluloid from 1982 or thereabouts. (I did keep the Grandmixer D St one, though. Have still never owned a copy of Rammellzee's "Beat Bop," though it's one of favorite hip-hop songs of all time.)

xhuxk, Monday, 22 May 2006 15:37 (nineteen years ago)

A Moog Source. Granted, it's the second crappiest Moog ever, but that was totally idiotic.

William Selman (William Selman), Monday, 22 May 2006 15:54 (nineteen years ago)

Cruising With Ruben and the Jets original vinyl.

The Jazz Guide to Penguins on Compact Disc (Rock Hardy), Monday, 22 May 2006 16:09 (nineteen years ago)

I bet it's on iTunes!

Whiney G. Weingarten (whineyg), Monday, 22 May 2006 17:24 (nineteen years ago)

I also regretted selling "Electric Ladyland" enough that I bought it again a couple years later.

Oh I HAVE the song (on a mix tape from Frank Kogan, on *Ego Trip's Big Payback,* on *New York Noise* I think); I just mean I don't own a copy of the 12" (Do people think iTunes is owning something? Wow.)

xhuxk, Monday, 22 May 2006 17:55 (nineteen years ago)

Do people think iTunes is owning something? Wow.

If I pay money for it, better believe I own it!
