Ah, Little Big Time, from the time kids' TV was worth watching, i.e. when I was a kid.

But the saddest spectacle was the forlorn chap standing outside the theatre on Blackpool South Pier in the summer of '74: "Starts in 15 minutes! Freddie Garrity stars in The Jolson Story! Plenty of seats left!"
