new gothstep live mix i've done-

http://www.lovecraftrecords.com/djcalliopemarakasu-allyoubrokenheartedpeople.mp3

all material produced throughout remarkably sad times.

i'd be wildly curious to know what you think.

I think it needs a little more variety. Currently most of it is "slowly changing minor key chord" + "glitchy breakbeats"... add melodies or tension / release or breakdowns or *something* to give it some movement.

This is my first time listening to anything described as "gothstep" and I liked it. Could use the occasional vocal snippet or two and turn those drums up! Outro track is especially good, btw.

can i have a tracklisting before i download this (presuably quite large) file?

awesome! thanks kindly for your responses!

this is EXACTLY the kind of input i'm
looking for!

gothstep is a term my hypergoff ex-grlfrend
came up with to describe the sort of music
i spin as a dj, which is to say melancholy,
cinematic techstep ala what folks like krust,
optical, matrix, makai, and the like were
releasing almost a decade ago.

a couple of friends and i have decided
to take the term and run with it.

look for an article in the wire soon,
yo!

there's really no tracklisting,
as it's all loops cut from my
own tunes, mixed in realtime
using ableton and knobs in a
sweaty gainesville punk club.

it's only maybe twenty meg,
and very possibly worth
yr while, if sad strings,
distorto bass, and pale
girls imitating whales
are your thing...

thanks again!
