Partridge Family-esque backing vocals: Recommendations?

I've been listening to Tommy James and the Shondells' "Get Out Now" kind of obsessively this week, enamored of the backing vocals on the chorus that sound a lot like the light/airy female voice on Partridge Family tracks like "One Night Stand" and "Doesn't Somebody Want to Be Wanted." (Was Shirley Jones actually singing on those records?) Anyone have recommendations in a similar vein?

(More sunshine-pop threads, please.)

the Rev-Ola label is pretty much a one-stop shopping place for stuff like this...check out:

Marc Eric, Merry-Go-Round, Sandy Salisbury

Obviously, the Cowsills, who were the original Partridge Family, so to speak. There's a nice "psychedelic" compilation on Rev-Ola, and plenty of other good releases on CD.

I think "1, 2, 3 Red Light" by the 1910 Fruitgum Company might have been the prototype (or one of the prototypes) for that Partridge Family backing vocals style.

The earliest Partridge songs on the show had no actual partridges. In the pilot, I like the Bayer/Sedaka song 'Let The Good Times In' and that is all The Love Generation. Then Shirley and David actually sing and The Love Generation moved to backing vocals.

Didn't Curt Boettcher have a hand in some of the Brady Bunch recordings? Certainly sounds like it. I know, Bradys =/= Partridges, but you know what I mean.

the cowsills 'painting the day' comp on El is genius.
actually all of the recent EL reissues have some of this, the Bugaloos soundtrack, the Pufnstuf soundtrack and the Four King Cousins too.
