Not much info yet, but great news to be sure. I'm hoping that with these being double CDs there will more than just the appropriate, contemporaneous b-sides and we'll get to hear some wonderful unreleased tracks as well. (E.g., "Live On," "The Boss," "Watching Nicky," "We Can Dance Again," "Paula")

surely 'babies' is the same on EP and LP?
maybe the remastering process will involve going back in time and replacing ed buller with someone competent.
― Enrique IX: The Mediator (Enrique), Wednesday, 31 May 2006 07:46 (nineteen years ago)
aha but no! It's not on the LP, it was a bonus track on CD - and the EP hangs together thematically, so those songs are going to be better off together, and the LP running order restored (PLEEEEEEEASE etc)

I can understand the folks who would rather see b-sides and rarities set, but these expanded versions seem to be the way the game is played nowadays. And given that these are purportedly going to be 2 CDs there should be a lot more interesting material than on some other recent reissues, like say in the case of the Talking Heads remasters. The thought of the DC bonus disc, in particular, intrigues me. Remixes aside, there were very few non-album b-sides for the DC singles. ("P.T.A.," "Ansaphone," "Mile End," the acoustic tracks from the "Common People" pt 2., and "Disco 2000" 7" mix, are all I think.) Hopefully this will leave room for some unreleased tracks. Surely they must have at least demoed "We Can Dance Again" as a very polished live version with completed lyrics exists. Ah who am I kidding, they'll probably just pad it with some live stuff from Glasto.
But if I can just hear studio versions of "Live On" and "The Boss" (which I guess these would have to go, somewhat anachronistically, on the HnH bonus disc) I will be a happy man.

xpost Common People '96 was a single in france. Basically, exactly the same as the single edit, but the 'and screw' line becomes 'and ....'. That's it.

Previously unavailable? Pshaw. Get one MP3 search though nice for completism and presumably better sound quality. I prefer the version of "You're A Nightmare" that actually made the single to the JP version, but the JP version is very good too.
That's not the best of the various live "Live On" vrersions, but nice to have it on CD. Hopefully the "The Boss" demos will be, um, audible, rather than the tinny things we've had to make do with for years.

EXACTLY! i don't get all this "rip-off" talk. i'd pay full whack for each of the three bonus cds anyway, and my original cd copies of the albums are, in chronological order, cracked (though miraculously still playable) thanks to a misplaced candle in my dorm room, fucked due to years of overplaying, leaving at parties, beer-mat subsitution etc, and, er, actually i've got about 6 copies of TIH for various reasons, but that never stopped me with the Cure reduxes and it ain't gonna stop me now.
Honestly, every time I read through the above track listings i go all tingly. and my copies arrive tomorrow! will report in full, if anyone's keen.

Its quite dull and bland to be frank - I can see why they decided to bin the track. Shame really as so much potential was there.
And whomever knocked Ed Buller on here before, he did an AMAZING job remixing the OU demo, it sounded like it was performed live, the stylophone playing a key part to the track, but Ed saved this, and released a decent mix of it in the form of the single and Intro album

My guess: Fopp (or whoever) will have the original albums for £5, and these 'deluxe' editions for £15, so it's lots of cheaply recorded tracks for £10.
A nice testimonial payout for the other Pulp guys, but there it is.

This is a double CD of the best of the recordings Pulp made for John Peel. Disc One contains their complete studio sessions, including their first ever and much sought after 1981 session. Disc Two contains the best of their In Concert recordings, including the complete concert recorded at the Queen Elizabeth Hall to celebrate 40 years of broadcasting by John.
Contains sleeve notes by Jarvis.
Release date is end of this month.
