Props to Michael Daddino for preparing this over a year (and handing this over kindly) and coming up with the idea of starting this off with the two tracks at the very beginning. It seeded the way this ended up progressing all the way through.

Also to Rickey Wright for many great suggestions.

Yay! So nicely done.

Rickey Wright (Rrrickey), Monday, 29 May 2006 06:28 (nineteen years ago)

molly (bulbs), Monday, 29 May 2006 08:36 (nineteen years ago)

Nice work. Are you sharing this on slsk?

Mr. Snrub (Mr. Snrub), Monday, 29 May 2006 11:18 (nineteen years ago)

Where would one go about getting this?

WillS (WillS), Monday, 29 May 2006 17:53 (nineteen years ago)

I've got the blanks, where do I mail them?

Lord Custos Omicron (Lord Custos Omicron), Monday, 29 May 2006 21:09 (nineteen years ago)

Thanks all! Hold your thoughts on the sharing thing for now, while I do research on non-YSI subjects and not involving ilx directly.

((((((DOPplur)))n)))u))))tttt (donut), Monday, 29 May 2006 21:11 (nineteen years ago)

TORRENT.

s1ocki (slutsky), Monday, 29 May 2006 21:12 (nineteen years ago)

I'm still working on the booklets, and I start a new job tomorrow, so it might a few days before I'm ready for blanks/cases/etc. I'll revive the thread when ready.

((((((DOPplur)))n)))u))))tttt (donut), Monday, 29 May 2006 21:13 (nineteen years ago)

I'm torrent-illiterate :(

((((((DOPplur)))n)))u))))tttt (donut), Monday, 29 May 2006 21:13 (nineteen years ago)

With exceptions of the out-of-print stuff, I purchases everything on this compilation, either via iTunes or already had the CDs... so I'm pretty much illiterate in file sharing gossip overall.

((((((DOPplur)))n)))u))))tttt (donut), Monday, 29 May 2006 21:14 (nineteen years ago)

*applause* for an amazing playlist ^ 7.

Joseph McCombs (Joseph McCombs), Tuesday, 30 May 2006 05:15 (nineteen years ago)

Slight amendment to this, in part 5.. or, uh, Part 2 - 'Imagination' Act I: "And All Of The Colors Are Black..."/ or whatever the hell I was on when I titled these parts...

068 01 Bee Gees "Jive Talkin'" (from Main Course, later from soundtrack Saturday Night Fever)

Move everything up one after it.

((((((DOPplur)))n)))u))))tttt (donut), Saturday, 10 June 2006 21:45 (nineteen years ago)

Preparing the booklets now... will be deciding on sharing site issues soon. (I might actually, *gasp*, pay the five bucks per month for YSI, and organize something outside ilx)

((((((DOPplur)))n)))u))))tttt (donut), Saturday, 10 June 2006 22:01 (nineteen years ago)

You're making a booklet for this thing?

Mr. Snrub (Mr. Snrub), Sunday, 11 June 2006 02:14 (nineteen years ago)

Well, a few physical CD-Rs are being made out of this, so I figure a track listing might help. :)

Maxine was on the list, but got bumped right back to where she started from (cuz there was no room on the CDR)

((((((DOPplur)))n)))u))))tttt (donut), Sunday, 11 June 2006 04:11 (nineteen years ago)

heh so you were right brian be my beach IS from take it to stage (what was i thinking?) btw and also i'd like this plus the other ones you were gonna send me if possible ;)

mollygrubber (bulbs), Sunday, 11 June 2006 04:56 (nineteen years ago)

The absence of Ms. Nightingale hurts. But not as much as the absence of anything from Jefferson Starship's Red Octopus ("Miracles, "Play on Love," "Fast Buck Freddie"). But you knew I was going to say that.

Joseph McCombs (Joseph McCombs), Sunday, 11 June 2006 05:12 (nineteen years ago)

Oh, if we're gonna get all pissy, then...

Where's "Supernatural Thing" by Ben E. King? Where's "I'm on Fire" by the Dwight Twilley Band? Where's "I Love Music" by the O'Jays? Where's "Reaching For the Best" by the Exciters? Where's "Hi-Jack" by Herbie Mann? Where's "Ding Ding-a-Dong" by Teach-In? Where's my personal favorite song of the year, the Disco Gold LP mix of "We're On the Right Track" by Ultra High Frequency? And most glaring of all, WHERE'S "COME UP AND SEE ME, MAKE ME SMIIIIIIIIIIIIILE"!??! These are all songs whose respective artists don't have other songs on the CDR, so there's really no excuse now, is there?

But there's a lot of songs on here that I've never heard, so I'm really eager to hear it.

"It's not easy being OMGWTFLOL!"

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 11 June 2006 14:04 (nineteen years ago)

Now that you mention it, anything from Carole King & Maurice Sendak's Really Rosie would have been splendid. :)

Joseph McCombs (Joseph McCombs), Sunday, 11 June 2006 15:22 (nineteen years ago)

Now that I think about it -- and I'm not criticizing anybody's work over the years here! -- how many kid's records made it onto the various CDRGO efforts so far? I think that's a great way to leaven up things.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 11 June 2006 15:35 (nineteen years ago)

Well, Johnny Cash's Children's Album made it :D (which is about as much of a children's album as A Children's Story is a children's book, granted)

((((((DOPplur)))n)))u))))tttt (donut), Sunday, 11 June 2006 17:16 (nineteen years ago)

A children's decade CDRGO would be abso-fucking-lutely imperative, though.

((((((DOPplur)))n)))u))))tttt (donut), Sunday, 11 June 2006 17:16 (nineteen years ago)

Anyway, I found a WHY ESS EYE like site that I like, so someone might be rudely interrupting this thread with a spam page link to this very soon... what a bastard that person would be, of course.

((((((DOPplur)))n)))u))))tttt (donut), Sunday, 11 June 2006 17:18 (nineteen years ago)
