Donno if there was a thread about it before (tried searching for it, yes).

So, what albums you haven't listened to for a long time and recently reunited with? Were you disappointed? Disappointed in yourself for listening to it before? Or surprised how well it aged?

Recently got these:
Pet Shop Boys - Disco 2 (used to have it on tape, last time listened to it somewhere around 2000) - it's cheesy and i love it.
Soft Cell - Singles (i've got to get Non-Stop Erotic Cabaret too)
The Prodigy - Experience/Music for... (Experience is what, 14 years old now? it didn't age a bit. Fucking brilliant.)

Planning on buying sometime soon:
Paul Mccartney - Back To The Egg, Tug of War
Prince - Purple Rain

Cosmic Psychos - Down On The Farm & Cosmic Psychos (great! better than I remembered)

The Leather Nun - Alive/Coriun Monaca Deadly (has this really not been released on CD? Incredible.)

Higher Intelligence Agency - Freefloater (had been misplaced, recently found again, very, very happy about this)

NIN - Downward Spiral

Really enjoyed it the first few listens and heard things I missed before but then I got real disappointed and haven't listened to it since. It just sounds kidna dated and hollow now.

Just picked up a compilation by Norwegian 80s heartthrobs Drama/Creation. Drama were loved by certain girls in my class to a level where all us boys would get sick of them, so I wasn't particularly into them, but then they broke up in two and the one half that named themselves Creation (not to be confused with the 60s "Painter Man" mods) released a great synthpop album. The current compilation featured about half of the songs from that album, and they were still great (plus some of the Drama tracks proved to be surprisingly good too)

Hadn't really listened to Time Out Of Mind in many years. Busted it out recently and found it much more enjoyable than when it came out. It's not on the same level as Love and Theft (not much is) but it earned its status as his "best since blood on the tracks", and Highlands is a true masterpiece.

for me the last few days have been all about rediscovering my FAX collection.

so far i have really enjoyed Shades of Orion 2, DOTS (on Rather Interesting - but tis Atom Heart so it counts), and half of the Ambient Cookbook, and Atom Hearts Orange.

at first i thought all had aged really well, especially when listening on the headphones, then midstream i decided to check out the new Black dog ep and realised just how far music production had jumped in the last 10 years.

unless FAX/RI releases were deliberately lo-tech in their production/sonics ..

still i care not, back to the calm.
