Still on a high after seeing an amazing rockabilly band in Portland, Maine (King Memphis) over the weekend, I've concluded that I need way more rockabilly in my collection.
I have lots of Sun and Charlie Feathers. What else?
Does any one have the Proper box, "From Boppin Hillbilly To Red Hot Rockabilly"?
And how are "Whistle Bait" and "Ain't It a Dog" on Sony?

Whistle-Bait is good, the Collins Kids are deadly and Maddox Bros (& Rose) kick ass. Some sweet Joe Maphis stuff too.

Collins Kids very very very much seconded.

"Ugly & Slouchy" ...best Maddox Brothers rockabilly tune, yep.

other good comps...Desperate Rock and Roll has loads of pretty obscure and rocking cuts. First couple of volumes of the series are particularly good.

The Collins Kids were interviewed and shown performing in PBS 'Welcome To The Club' about the rockabilly fillies. It gets repeated time to time. Good show.
