¡Forward, Russia!

I don't see a thread on this yet (although I might be wrong...)

I've got the album and it's growing on me. It's a bit math rock, a bit indie..I find it a bit hard to classify personally. I know they have quite a ferocious live reputation, and I hope to see them on their UK tour next month to see for myself what all the fuss is about.

Any other thoughts?

(BTW - Hello. I'm new to this posting lark.)

I actually kinda like "Fourteen" but yeah, that album is not so much.

Make them go away.

They come from this horribly incestuous scene in Leeds, where the music is so horrid everyone has to distract themselves with hairspray and cocaine.

They also love to point out that they don't mind if people don't like them. So do your worst!

I'm with Andrea. I'm not crazy about them, but I've had the album for a little while now and it's growing on me. I don't understand the hatred. I'm looking forward to seeing them live here (New York) next week.

Saw them at Dublin Whelan's - after their set an affable Irish lad came up to my girlfriend and I and asked 'Was that the main band?' We said yes... he said 'F*cking sh*t, weren't they???.... Want a drink???'. Now it would be just disrespectful not to honour the guy's opinion under the circumstances......so Forward Russia are indeed terrible. The only good thing about them was that they won 'Best Band In Leeds' last year and put the Kaiser Chiefs' collective nose out of joint...

I thought I'd like them but it's terrible. Really derivative scratchy rubbish with terrible yelpy vocals. Seem to rememeber Black Wire being quite good from the Leeds scene but I've not heard anything recently...
