I remember attending this in the late '80s/mid '90s when Yo La Tengo and King Missile (first lineup) would play ... can't get much info on tomorrow's bands beyond Life in a Blender, but if you're in the nabe:

My band's on at 12:30 but don't let that deter you. I think the Brain Surgeons are playing. Gil always has some surprises up his sleeve. He engineers at WFMU, so he's well connected. Plus it's for a good cause, and the whole backyard aspect is really neat.

it's about time gil brought this back!!!

my band lightning kites is playing circa 1:30 pm and we along with all the other bands are doing our anti-rain-dances this week. who is your band, sang freud?

fact checking cuz (fcc), Thursday, 8 June 2006 19:13 (nineteen years ago)

Love Camp 7 = very nice people. Glad to see Dann's involved with this.

Joseph McCombs (Joseph McCombs), Thursday, 8 June 2006 19:28 (nineteen years ago)

cuz, I think for this occasion we're called "Fine." We're a last-minute replacement for a band that had to cancel. The other guitarist and I have known Gil for decades. I'll introduce myself, assuming your anti-rain dances (and mine) are effective.

Sang Freud (jeff_s), Thursday, 8 June 2006 19:44 (nineteen years ago)

Hey FCC, sorry we're keeping you guys out of the practice space tonight.

Eppy (Eppy), Thursday, 8 June 2006 20:38 (nineteen years ago)

no worries, eppy. but if we blow any songs on saturday as a result, we know where to find you!

look forward to seeing fine on saturday, sang.

and i second the very niceness of love camp 7.
