Defend the Indefensible: Savage Garden "I Knew I Loved You"

Why, in 2006, is this song still always playing when the dentist is working on my teeth? It's a complete trainwreck. When it came out, I remember an extremely overweight boy performed it at the elementary talent show; his voice cracked often, but it didn't stop him from getting into the song. He even did that move where he closed his eyes and dipped the microphone stand down, acting like a lost member of Boyz II Men...so painful--Anyway, a terrible song. Go ahead and try to defend the terrible vocals and bland production.

I can't be the only one who thought Darren Hayes was a girl.

I have no intention to defend that one song, but "To The Moon And Back" and "I Want You" were both nice pop songs.

I like it. Don't know anything about terrible vocals or bland production. I just sorta like listening to it.

Savage Garden = the biggest existential shart committed to tape. Worse than Rufus Wainwright covering Test Icicles.

Don't forget the deeply patronizing lyrics!
