i saw danielson last friday and they were fantastic. however, my roomate was really into the second supporting act, "young people" and i thought their set was about as enjoyable as an abortion. if anyone on here went... what did you think of them?

You couldn't drag me through the doors of that concert bill! I mean, unless I was comatose or something.

Johnny Fever (johnny fever), Thursday, 8 June 2006 22:22 (nineteen years ago)

thanks for your usless commentary.

matthew benedetti (mattthemap), Thursday, 8 June 2006 22:23 (nineteen years ago)

Well, you asked what we thought of them, and I was the first person to tell you. WTF is your problem?

Johnny Fever (johnny fever), Thursday, 8 June 2006 22:26 (nineteen years ago)

"if anyone on here went... what did you think of them?"

why comment if it isn't constructive? just curious... you just wanted to let me know you're not into the same music as i am? well, your points been made. thanks for making note on this board that we don't share taste in this case. cheers!

mattthemap (mattthemap), Thursday, 8 June 2006 22:33 (nineteen years ago)

Haha, you're so new.

Johnny Fever (johnny fever), Thursday, 8 June 2006 22:36 (nineteen years ago)

mattthemap (mattthemap), Thursday, 8 June 2006 22:38 (nineteen years ago)

Keep practicing. You're almost there.

Johnny Fever (johnny fever), Thursday, 8 June 2006 22:39 (nineteen years ago)

mattthemap (mattthemap), Thursday, 8 June 2006 22:45 (nineteen years ago)

The Good Dr. Bill (The Good Dr. Bill), Thursday, 8 June 2006 22:47 (nineteen years ago)

jäxøñ (jaxon), Thursday, 8 June 2006 22:49 (nineteen years ago)

Well, now that I'm 32, I've decided I just don't like young people. They're awful!

Johnny Fever (johnny fever), Thursday, 8 June 2006 22:49 (nineteen years ago)

Expecting a straight answer on ILM - c/d?

I thought this was a ILE thread that had gone a-wanderin' it turns out 'young people' are a band. I look forward to hearing them.

Ned T.Rifle (nedtrifle), Thursday, 8 June 2006 22:49 (nineteen years ago)

i think i'll ban this guy from his own thread.

jewess harvell (dubplatestyle), Thursday, 8 June 2006 22:49 (nineteen years ago)

i really don't like them either. think hstencil is budz

jäxøñ (jaxon), Thursday, 8 June 2006 23:07 (nineteen years ago)

I thought their debut was ok, too formless, except for "collection" and something else. have no idea what they've been up to since then.

tremendoid (tremendoid), Thursday, 8 June 2006 23:34 (nineteen years ago)

I love all three of their albums! The singer Katie also made an experimental dance DVD on Kill rock stars whicih I really should watch someday...

Michael F Gill (Michael F Gill), Friday, 9 June 2006 14:03 (nineteen years ago)

"Expecting a straight answer on ILM - c/d?"

I'd prefer an "Expecting a straight answer on ILM - s/d?" thread.

I haven't seen/heard them since Jeff left for LA and Lavender Diamond, but I thought they were great.

Dan Selzer (Dan Selzer), Friday, 9 June 2006 14:15 (nineteen years ago)

and they did a really cool version of the Children's Song from the movie Night of the Hunter.

Dan Selzer (Dan Selzer), Friday, 9 June 2006 14:21 (nineteen years ago)

oh he used to be in young people? i had no idea.

i've always liked what i've heard from young people but i never seem to listen to them much. and i still gotta hear their "where the streets have no name" cover.

rajeev (rajeev), Friday, 9 June 2006 14:34 (nineteen years ago)

My friends and I have been planning a party called "The Right Time" party. One of the teasers is: "Have Sex with Young People."

Heh.

ten months pass...
So I found Five Sunsets in Four Days and All at Once via clearance and gave 'em a whirl not knowing anything about them. Not bad. Not the end of the world.

Ned Raggett, Friday, 27 April 2007 19:17 (eighteen years ago)

Michael F Gill, Friday, 27 April 2007 19:32 (eighteen years ago)

PappaWheelie V, Friday, 27 April 2007 20:02 (eighteen years ago)

Hooray!

Ned Raggett, Friday, 27 April 2007 20:03 (eighteen years ago)

that one track, "Night of the Hunter," always liked it..

delta88, Friday, 27 April 2007 20:22 (eighteen years ago)

useless commentary, thy name is ILM.

ian, Friday, 27 April 2007 22:58 (eighteen years ago)

I thought about reviving this thread myself a few months ago because I totally came around on Young People. Very nice album and ep last year, indeed. Still don't much care for that previous stuff, though.

Johnny Fever, Friday, 27 April 2007 23:06 (eighteen years ago)

"Ne'er Do Well" is a great track, but I've hated everything else I've heard (not a lot).

caek, Friday, 27 April 2007 23:06 (eighteen years ago)

seven months pass...

If you google yourself matthew benedetti I just want to remind you that you suck.

Noodle Vague, Sunday, 9 December 2007 14:26 (eighteen years ago)

That new two-piece album was a bad idea.

da croupier, Sunday, 9 December 2007 15:44 (eighteen years ago)

'recent' rather than 'new,' i guess
