Maybe the first Xiu Xiu album that won't turn off non-Xiu Xiu people.

My feelings toward this band are similar to Alex in NYC's feelings toward Scout Niblett.

Jena (JenaP), Monday, 12 June 2006 02:59 (nineteen years ago)

Extraordinary.

Jeff. (Jeff), Saturday, 24 June 2006 19:42 (nineteen years ago)

I love writing about music.

Fantastic album. Bishop, CA is one of my favorite Xiu Xiu songs. Vulture Piano was the immediate track for me but the rest grow on you quickly. PJ In The Streets of London is great too.

Jason Stern (Dags), Saturday, 24 June 2006 20:01 (nineteen years ago)

There are no throwaway tracks, and the whole thing hangs together as an album really well. You want to listen to it all in one sitting every time.

four months pass...
There are hundreds of albums that came out this year that I thought I would like more than a new Xiu Xiu record.

But I don't. This is the best record I've heard all year.

Owen Pallett (Owen Pallett), Tuesday, 7 November 2006 18:18 (nineteen years ago)

I have this, and have yet to listen to it.

When I'm done with this Wolfe Tones album, Xiu Xiu.

Johnathan Redgers (Pearl Hooch), Tuesday, 7 November 2006 22:59 (nineteen years ago)

Yeah Owen, you really let us down man.

Jena (JenaP), Wednesday, 8 November 2006 00:42 (nineteen years ago)

I know, I know. It's so tacky! I was determined to let metal win this year. But it doesn't, it just doesn't.

Owen Pallett (Owen Pallett), Wednesday, 8 November 2006 01:59 (nineteen years ago)

There's a song on that album named after a filthy-humourous porno manga.
Downloaded it about a year ago.

The GZeus (The GZeus), Wednesday, 8 November 2006 02:06 (nineteen years ago)

scott seward you have my heart in your hands

Fetchboy (Felcher), Wednesday, 8 November 2006 05:22 (nineteen years ago)

six years pass...

1. so many xiu xiu threads. 2. the air force is a slept on masterpiece. 3. james stewart is one of america's great artists

i also enjoy in line skateing (spazzmatazz), Wednesday, 10 July 2013 04:39 (twelve years ago)

i haven't really kept up with them since 'fabulous muscles,' which i didn't really like. 'a promise' was a big part of my life during a difficult period about 10 years ago. i find them difficult to listen to now. i'm happy that stewart is still making music though.

marcos, Wednesday, 10 July 2013 13:40 (twelve years ago)
