wow, how did I not know about that place. After high school my mom moved to Basking Ridge. I spent some summers there during college(and just after), and would go to Sommerville to Neat-o-rama or Twinkievision or whatever they called it. Met a guy who baby-sat for Nick Cave and ran the Gun Club fanclub there. Only went to Bound Brook once to the ancient movie theater, owned by the same guy who owned the Lost Picture Show and the Welmont. Beautiful theater in disrepair, you could only sit in the last few rows because the ceiling was falling down in the front.

Wow - this looks awesome. I'm in southern NJ today, but I'm going to see if I can swing by this place on my way back before it closes.

Great! But you need the CD of 2001 that came out a few years ago, on Rhino, I think, to get all the actual soundtrack (I think the one you're showing has mostly music that was *written* for the soundtrack[by Alex North?],but wasn't used that much, cos then Kubrick discovered the mindblowing Euro avantsters)(whom he was slow to pay, and meanwhile had to pacify North, so that's who got most of the orig vinyl, is what I read.)Who is Masi? Looks wicked.

don (dow), Sunday, 11 June 2006 00:58 (nineteen years ago)

masi were a kind of crappy hair metal band from LA, i think. it says here that their genre is "heavy metal/shred." i saw them open for slayer/danzig (replacing junkyard who probably made a wise decision) at the palladium and they were not popular with the crowd.

GOD PUNCH TO HAWKWIND (yournullfame), Sunday, 11 June 2006 02:52 (nineteen years ago)

Christopher Costello (CGC), Sunday, 11 June 2006 04:31 (nineteen years ago)
