Changes to Spelling of Names

I was just looking at my copy of the Space Jam Soundtrack, and I saw that Jay-Z spelled his name with an umlaut over the y in 'Jay.' What other artists have kept the same name but changed the way they write it?

Schooolly D has instable numbers of o's and l's

I think people never bothered to spell Schoolly D's name correctly, including publicists and record labels.

Does the annual (?) renaming of spizzenergi, Athletico Spizz 80, etc. count?

A Study In Redd Scharlach (Ken L), Tuesday, 20 June 2006 15:10 (nineteen years ago)

The country singer Janie Fricke changed her last name to "Frickie" so people would stop pronouncing it "Frick."

And yeah, Dionne briefly added an E to the end of her last name on the advice of her numerologist.

I'm more than willing to bet the Jay-Z thing was a typo.

On the second Timbaland album, a pre-Incognegro Ludacris spelled his name as "Ludachris"!

Didn't the Skywalker have to change his name to Skyywalker?

If you look at the original pressings of the first 2 Live Crew album from 1986, his Jeep Cherokee has a name plate at the bottom of the door that reads "Luke Skywalker", but the casette spine says "Luke Skyywalker". The logo has two Y's, but thy overlap each other, as if they applied it last minute. In 1989, Luke Skyywalker records changed to Skyywalker records, sprading out the y's. In 1991, they just became Luke Records, and he began going by his real name. The one MC Shy D called him by in his lawsuit.

I was 7 years old when it came out; I'm not too ashamed. Oh, and I just looked on Google, and some blogger said he has a Reasonable Doubt record with the umlaut over the y, too.

Also re. Dionne Warwick: Her birth name was Warrick. The record company flubbed it early in her career spelling it Warwick, which she accepted, until that e thing came along.
