So my loving parents gifted me with an i-pod shuffle for my birthday. i'm not much of a digital music guy and have never used i-tunes. they also gave me a $15 gift card for the i-tunes store. how should i use it?

Partially true. You do have to buy the albums for "Sad Eyed Lady of the Lowlands," "Going Home," "The End" and some other favs.
But the Who's "A Quick One While He's Away," at 9:11, is a bargain at 99 cents.
