What a wasted opportunity this: http://www.discogs.com/release/710818 is. Should have guessed when it wasn't Boomkat's Album Of All Time a couple of weeks back. 30 tracks in 70ish minutes not a great sign either I guess. Bought it anyway, and totally underwhelmed by the whole thing. The individual tracks are faultless, obviously, but the mixing is really dull depsite being technically proficient (at least as far as matching the beats goes). Some unforgiveable ommissions too... no Music People, no Runaway, and worst of all no J.A.N!!!

One discovery on it though: Moodymann's Givin' U Something, which I hadn't heard. Real nice...

Anybody know anything about the new album? When's it due? He was playing tracks from it on that Giles Peterson show he did a few months back and said it wouldn't be long.

Not that I would have any inside scoop on this anyway, but in general his stuff seems to just appear out of the ether and his estimated release dates probably don't mean much either.
