I was actually listening to Richie Hawtin dj yesterday, if that counts. I don't know which records he was playing. Might've been German.

Unfortunately I have a rule that no more than 35% of all music listened to by me can be canadian, and I already passed my quota for the year.

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Monday, 3 July 2006 07:03 (twenty years ago)

I really don't understand why Richie Hawtin is labelled as being Canadian. He moved to Canada when he was THIRTEEN, and to Windsor, so if anything he's going to be spending a lot of time in detroit.

on the same hand you have Ricardo Villalobos, who is constantly being labelled as Chilean, when he moved to Germany when he was only 3.

I happen to be Half Canadian, Half Chilean, but then again I'm not much for national pride.

and listen to A Silver mt. Zion. I don't care if it's already the 4th, Listen to them in 361 days.

Thomas Mehlt (Tokyo Ghost Stories), Tuesday, 4 July 2006 23:07 (twenty years ago)

My Dad moved to Canada when he was 27 but he's a Canadian or else we're owed a lot in back taxes. (NB I have no idea what Richie Hawtin's citizenship actually is.)

Sundar (sundar), Wednesday, 5 July 2006 00:06 (twenty years ago)

From what I understand, Hawtin moved to Canada when he was nine, which is plenty young enough to be Canadian.

Binjominia (Brilhante), Wednesday, 5 July 2006 00:43 (twenty years ago)
