Putting aside questions of musical value (and they are musically worthwhile, as anything done by EPMD is), following the evolution of the jane story-arc is practically a sociological exercise of the evolution of hip-hop. From the relative innocence of old-school to more hard-edged rhymes and beats, not to mention jane's ever-changing hairstyles.
