I'm gonna have to say Trio on this one.

I'll admit to being ignorant about Trio, but they better have 50 songs better than "Da Da Da," because The Fall have 50 or more better than the one mentioned here.

A poptimist would follow him around
And use his jewels for TV primtime
Of this, he was convinced

Tim Ellison (Tim Ellison), Saturday, 15 July 2006 03:25 (twenty years ago)

er, primetime

Tim Ellison (Tim Ellison), Saturday, 15 July 2006 03:26 (twenty years ago)

Notebooks out, poptimists!

Tim Ellison (Tim Ellison), Saturday, 15 July 2006 03:26 (twenty years ago)

Huh?

Adam Harrison-Friday (AdamFriday), Saturday, 15 July 2006 04:23 (twenty years ago)

Family jewels?

Shoes say, yeah, no hands clap your good bra. (goodbra), Saturday, 15 July 2006 04:33 (twenty years ago)

I am trying to suggest that the choice of "Da Da Da" over "The Man Whose Head Expanded" may be a popist/poptimist one in satirical garbled MES-speak. (xpost)

Tim Ellison (Tim Ellison), Saturday, 15 July 2006 04:34 (twenty years ago)

Hey! Poptimist

Tim Ellison (Tim Ellison), Saturday, 15 July 2006 04:37 (twenty years ago)

Get one casio preset

Michael F Gill (Michael F Gill), Saturday, 15 July 2006 08:22 (twenty years ago)

The Fall by about a million miles, duh.

Mr. Que (Mr.Que), Saturday, 15 July 2006 13:34 (twenty years ago)

"Da Da Da" is a grrrrrreat track.

Hey! Poptimist

And for the record I don't think I'm nearly educated enough to be a poptimist. Or a rockist, for that matter. I just have this newly-discovered fetish for German minimalist electronica/house (see http://www.ongaku.de/sound_player.php?recordid=202&page=7&record=202&lang=en , sample 1; we stumbled across this gem at the radio station while pulling out the Chrome LP's).

However Oblivians version of "Sunday You Need Love," by Trio, is better than both songs. Destroys.

Mr. Que (Mr.Que), Saturday, 15 July 2006 13:54 (twenty years ago)

as much as i like the trio song, i will have to go with the sonic wizardry of the fall.

Max Slobodin (theartandsound), Monday, 17 July 2006 04:50 (twenty years ago)

i'd like to say trio because MES makes the fall turn the bloody blimey space invadah off halfway through. but TMWHE is a work of unimpeachable genius, really, so i side with it.

one year passes...

I have to amend my original post and add Monte Cazazza's "Sex is No Emergency".
