i just doodled this at work which proves ILM has eaten my subconscious from within!! but WHO is fighting WHO? and who will WIN???

(ps thanks for stevie nixed for urgent and key technical help and advice)

mark s, Friday, 22 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

It's Dan's subconscious vs. N.'s image of himself. Not sure who is who, though.

Ned Raggett, Friday, 22 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

You doodled it? Interesting. The Dragon / lizard / monster-thing is particularly good. I think you should take it to a graphologist and get your subconscious analysed.

And anyway, they're not fighting. They're about to embrace. Only the alien / goblin-thing is nasty, and is plotting to hurt the dragon / lizard / monster-thing.

Nick Southall, Friday, 22 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

My subconscious is either a bloomer-wearing robot or a cross-eyed dragon king. What a depressing way to start the weekend.

Dan Perry, Friday, 22 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I think they're getting down. It's Friday, after all.

Andy K, Friday, 22 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

The dragon is schweet. "WEEEEE! My long lost brother!" He's obviously on drugs.

nathalie, Friday, 22 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

It's pinefox (right) and Peter Miller (left). Don't ask me how my subconscious knows this - I have never met these people.

Jeff W, Friday, 22 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I can see that the dragon is royalty. Not because of the headwear, which may just be a snowboarding hat ... but because he has very long toenails.

Dave225, Friday, 22 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

It's pinefox (right)

This fits, as he has his arms raised in a "What is this thread about?" manner.

If and when the ILX comp emerges, I hope that this is the cover.

Miranda, Friday, 22 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Funnily enough, this has already been suggested. ;-)

Ned Raggett, Friday, 22 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I don't know who they should represent, but I'm laughing my damn ass off. *plop* See?

Nanobot Telekenetic Dragon: "Everybody...put your arms up in the air, and wave them like you just don't care!"

ICEMOTH/Chickenbear Hybrid: "Get funky!"

three months pass...
Can I just say that I've spent the last three hours pouring through the ILX archives and that I've rarely been more entertained?

Good day graphologists.

Here in Lima-Peru there is a Telepathic Writing which needs to be analyzed. You can take a look at a piece of this handwriting at http://cienciasolar.tripod.com/index/docu.htm (the letter, not the document).

Thanks for your time.

oh no! PERUVIAN TELEPATHY!! oh NO!!

I think it's obvious the little alien man is causing trouble. He seems, due to his expression, to hold a slightly superior intellect to the relatively vacant looking dragon. He is also looking at the dragon, with a rather sinister looking smile, his arms up as a signal of control or manipulation (the puppet master perhaps). The dragon is clearly playing, perhaps dancing, and 'having a bit of a laugh', looking down at his own body and seemingly unaware of his own power. Thus we have the much used scenario of the evil, small and yet intelligent villain, with his rather dopey, more stupid than evil, 'lackey'.

However, the dragon is connected to the serpent... often used as a sign of wisdom and revered for skill in battle. The flag of King Arthur was reputed to have been the serpent (of the more pagan Britaine), before he took the banner of the cross and embraced Christianity...

Is that robot wearing a skirt - or are its knickers falling down?

Ray M, Thursday, 1 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

The dragon is a straight-up "Wild Things" rip (even your analyst will tell you this). But the thing on the left is fascinating. I like the snow-man hands.
