I call them The S-Dole for short

Doi Doing! (Dada), Wednesday, 2 August 2006 11:21 (nineteen years ago)

Please tell me they sound like a Beatles tribute band and that Carmody has heard them.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 2 August 2006 11:28 (nineteen years ago)

well that was it -- i was going to recommend the book to carmody. i googled the title and -- there was this band!!

Bashment Jakes (Enrique), Wednesday, 2 August 2006 11:29 (nineteen years ago)

I'm awaiting the Carmodist theory in regards to this band being children of Thatcher and a part of a New Labour conspiracy, and their relation to Anglia Television's on-screen presentation in the 1980s.

ESTEBAN BUTTEZ The Unstoppable Troll Machine (ESTEBAN BUTTEZ~!!!), Wednesday, 2 August 2006 11:30 (nineteen years ago)

Give yourself a pat on the back for explaining my joke to people too stupid to read between the lines.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 2 August 2006 11:31 (nineteen years ago)

That's 97% of ILM these days, y'know.

ESTEBAN BUTTEZ The Unstoppable Troll Machine (ESTEBAN BUTTEZ~!!!), Wednesday, 2 August 2006 11:33 (nineteen years ago)

Wow, they don't sound pretentious at all.

I'm gonna call my next band Four And A Half Years Of Struggle Against Lies Stupidity And Cowardice.

Edward III (edward iii), Wednesday, 2 August 2006 11:58 (nineteen years ago)

is George Dangerfield in the band?

gabbneb (gabbneb), Wednesday, 2 August 2006 14:41 (nineteen years ago)

why do you think I would want such a band to sound like the Beatles? just because I admire the politics of their era doesn't mean I want bands to sound like them; the period in music I most hated was ten years ago when almost everyone did. my anti-mid-90s-60s-revivalism rants are probably still somewhere on this forum.

whoever ESTEBAN BUTTEZ is (and I smell Passantino), he must be pretty sharp on the uptake. I have an article about Anglia's evolution posted on a certain website one day; he makes an allusion to it the next. there are some dangerously obsessive googlers round here.

good to see that this forum is still revelling in anti-intellectualism. well done, every one of you! I suppose you lot won't be happy until Lebanon has been fucked back to the 12th Century. you display all the tendencies.

robin carmody (robin carmody), Wednesday, 2 August 2006 17:30 (nineteen years ago)

woah dude!

Edward III (edward iii), Wednesday, 2 August 2006 17:53 (nineteen years ago)

yes, I know, I sound strange in this context. but there are people round here who are just *asking for it*.

Welcome back, welcome back, that thug's back (You know you like that)
Welcome back, welcome back, Harlem's back (You know you like that)
You know you like that
Welcome back, welcome back, that thug's back (You know you like that)
You know you like that
Welcome back, welcome back, Harlem's back (You know you like that)

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Wednesday, 2 August 2006 18:06 (nineteen years ago)

right. now are you or are you not "ESTEBAN BUTTEZ", Dom?

robin carmody (robin carmody), Wednesday, 2 August 2006 18:16 (nineteen years ago)

I'd just like to state that I respect Robin about, oh, a million times more than I respect Passantino.

It's just that Passantino is harder to parody because, really, who has read every word of one of his dumb reviews?

ESTEBAN BUTTEZ The Unstoppable Troll Machine (ESTEBAN BUTTEZ~!!!), Wednesday, 2 August 2006 19:24 (nineteen years ago)

This band undoubtedly sucks.

carmody wtf, just some tunes, pal.

gbx (skowly), Wednesday, 2 August 2006 19:32 (nineteen years ago)

I've done some research since my earlier postings. You're Phil Paterson, aren't you?

("gbx" - no comment)

robin carmody (robin carmody), Wednesday, 2 August 2006 19:32 (nineteen years ago)

"you" above = "Esteban Buttez", obviously.

robin carmody (robin carmody), Wednesday, 2 August 2006 19:33 (nineteen years ago)

This band undoubtedly sucks.

Now that's a Passantino-esque review!

gbx (skowly), Wednesday, 2 August 2006 19:36 (nineteen years ago)

I would like to apologise to Robin and everyone else reading for inadvertedly kicking this fucking circle-jerk off AGAIN!

To be fair, it's only been going on ILM for...well, as long as I can recall...

But it's a bit hard to have a thread about a band we don't know anything about except the name, isn't it? (Hasn't stopped anyone bashing these guys, through.)

ESTEBAN BUTTEZ The Unstoppable Troll Machine (ESTEBAN BUTTEZ~!!!), Wednesday, 2 August 2006 19:44 (nineteen years ago)

i keep starting threads that go all FITE at the mo.

Bashment Jakes (Enrique), Thursday, 3 August 2006 11:45 (nineteen years ago)

Someone needs to restart that "TS: White Rap vs Black Rap" thread from Aja/D on ILM.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Thursday, 3 August 2006 18:52 (nineteen years ago)

eleven months pass...

they sound like the arcade fire. http://www.myspace.com/tsdole odd. odd thread.

acrobat, Saturday, 14 July 2007 19:21 (eighteen years ago)

I've never heard them, but if they're anything less than immense I'll be very disappointed. They're from Portsmouth apparently, so I wonder if DJ Martian's withering glare will soften a bit towards them?
