Claiming that Tony Ogden died last week - Anyone know, can confirm/Deny this?

World of Twist - Quality Street - Great lost classic album

Whoa, that's sad. Quality Street I appreciate more than truly love, but maybe I've never *quite* gotten it. Or maybe I need to be from the UK.

Its up there in my top 50 ever - Just having a look around the web trying to find out any more info - Came across this

- Looks like Twisted Nerve were going to release the demos for the 2nd album - That was last year though

What a sad way to learn about his new project Bubblegum: http://gary.virtek.com/bubblegum/

World of Twist was a highlight at the "Ein Abend in Wien" festival in Rotterdam. It was natural to see them in a big theatre.

I'll never forget their appearance on The Word. Does anyone have it?

According to a mate of mine his body was found in a lake near his mothers house in Stockport and there's going to be an inquest into his death (Apologies if the obit says that but I can't get to the Independent website at the moment for some reason)

One of the great 'lost' bands and a quite remarkable frontman, no doubt the time will come when they're appreciated as such but sadly he won't be around to get the plaudits.

Billy Dods (Billy Dods), Thursday, 3 August 2006 11:31 (nineteen years ago)

A friend of mine once did me a tape of ELP doing Stravinsky's Firebird finale segued into (I think) Sons of the Stage. I think this would be a fitting tribute.

I hadn't been on ILM for a few days and I just came on to start this thread as I thought it might have been a little obscure and under-reported. You guys have done me and Tony Ogden proud. I heard on Saturday and dug out Quality Street. Definitely one of the great lost bands. So sad what happened to the guy though. A very sad loss.

Ain't nothing you can do 'cause there ain't no solution...

What a downer, so unbelievably sad. Blasted out "Sons of the Stage" on the way in this AM. If only things had gone right for World of Twist!
