I like Quine and Iggy as much as the next guy, but can't we ditch them and the Bowie sideman? This is really two supergroups squished together to make one mediocregroup.

Mingus
I realized that right after I posted, I was thinking circa 1980 or so though.
I like Quine and Iggy as much as the next guy, but can't we ditch them and the Bowie sideman? This is really two supergroups squished together to make one mediocregroup.
I feel like, if you forget about who they played with Quine had more of a jazz mentality to his playing than Sharrock and was a more sophisticated and controlled player overall. Don't think blue mask, think Blank Generation. As for Garson he played some wonderfully smart solos on Alladin Sane intergrating traditional jazz ideas with atonal clusters in a really convincing way. He puts a piano with strong glam creditentials behind Iggy, always a good thing, while also providing the rare keyboardist who can skronk intellegently. As for Iggy with Sanders, it was magic with mackay so why not with the real thing?
And the thing about the Sanders, Sharock, Jones super group- of course, Ask the Ages. But it's marred by what?, cheesy rock heads and bad rock production. So why not bring in punk rock masters with proven avant-jazz and improvosational skills to kick out the cheese but kick out the jams?
There's no way it could have been worse than jazz rock actually was.

Jah Wobble. Or Algis Kizys (he could use the gig - I recently saw his name listed as a driver in the credits of The Learning Channel's
Shalom In The Home)
