DONATE now to SAVE ILM

(This thread is already going on ILE, but for those of you who never visit there...)

As you might know, the future of ILX's hosting is in doubt. It's not certain, but we might have to find a new host for the servers, and a free one looks increasingly unlikely. Hosting will cost roughly $1200 a year, and a campaign has started to raise the cash.

You can:

  • DONATE to the campaign

  • Read more about the problems with hosting

  • Help out with an effort to get the ILX code into shape
  • If we are allowed to stay on the current host, all donations will be refunded, but if we're thrown off, it'll be too late to campaign. We already have enough for one month's hosting!

Suzy Creemcheese (SuzyCreemcheese), Friday, 11 August 2006 13:55 (nineteen years ago)

No, spoken word. It'll be me reading various thread highlights.

(Anyway, the basic amount has been reached, thanks to everyone! This said, if you can contribute and have not yet, please do so -- more money on hand will help with longer-term plans for hosting and hardware. Please contact Stet through his e-mail address on the donation page if you have further questions, and thanks.)

Whoops, scratch that! Stet has decided to stop fundraising for now, quite understandable! He will say more if more is needed, but for now we are good. Thanks to all!

StanM (StanM), Friday, 11 August 2006 14:40 (nineteen years ago)

Nah, I should read them flatly.

    "All right. Toronto."

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 11 August 2006 14:41 (nineteen years ago)

StanM (StanM), Friday, 11 August 2006 14:43 (nineteen years ago)

No, spoken word. It'll be me reading various thread highlights.

I vote for selections of Paul Stanely banter, the DMB "bad & hated" thread, and various haiku.

I want to see "ILX: A Film by Ken Burns" with dramatic readings of great threads as the camera slowly, lovingly pans across WDYLL photos, pix from "the best picture you've ever taken, ever," goatse, tubgirl, and the occasional POXY FULE screen.

Danny Aioli (Rock Hardy), Friday, 11 August 2006 22:49 (nineteen years ago)

    dearest mabel,

life is hard here in the rolling metal thread. everyone seems to have a different idea of what is or isn't of the "heavy metal" persuasion. the booty you sewed me has kept me warm during these long draughts of little interesting commentary. well, my love, i must go now. i cannot wait to return so i can ask your father for his daughter's hand in marriage.

    yours in metal,

    eli

p.s. please give my regards to your dear mother, may her black nekro kvlt heart sing the praises of Odin for eternity.
