Miss Gonson,
I realize you aren’t straight anymore. But since you seem like such a nice woman and I’ve bought so many of the albums you’ve been involved with, would you consider being my date to the Ring Dance? It’s a strange proposal, but I really can’t think of anyone else to ask. I’ve been on my fare share of dates and nothing ever seems to materialize. You, however, seem down to earth, kind, and are a damn good looking woman. Sure there’s a bit of an age difference, but you and I both know age is ONLY a number, on a very small scale. 100 years is nothing in the big scheme of things, is it?
A little about myself: I study civil engineering, and listen to the magnetic fields while doing so.
If you don’t take my request seriously I will understand but be slightly upset. Seriously. It’s difficult to find someone to go out with in a school that has so few females. You seem to fit the bill quite nicely, and besides, how many other women can say they went to the ring dance of an Air Force cadet! A: not many. It would be the culminating event of my short Air Force career.
Very very very respectfully,

PS—If you want I’ll include a picture of me flying a very cool glider to impress you.
I wonder in what form the rejection will be in. And yes, I was half serious. How cool would that be?

I played OMD at a party her girlfriend brought her to, she said I was the best DJ ever for that.

All those years of NYC jadedness, and the girl is still impressed by an OMD song at a party? Hasn't Stephin let her out of the house to go visit Larry Tee in the last six years? I mean, cute if it's true, but...
