Does anyone have any news of when 'Where'd You Get That Funk From?: George Clinton, Black Power, and the Story of P-Funk' is going to be released? It's by Lloyd Bradley (he of Bass Culture). It's been listed on Amazon for many months now and was initially slated for release in May.

By the way, the new issue of Wax Poetics is dedicated to P-Funk. But you probably already know that.

you might wanna head over to new funk times and ask that question. not a lot of funk in this joint.

Or maybe we just don't know the answer?

like I said, not a lot of funk in this joint.

This is the place where people post prog rock bands in funk threads. So the odds of finding someone around here who would be in the know about such a question is slim. The other place you should check is the one nation p funk page.

the Original P interview in wax poetics is hysterical.

Actually that's kinda the appeal. (Hey, funk bands should be in prog threads.)

i spoke to lloyd in april, and he said 'not this year', so... next year, hopefully.

well how about that. there you go - a little goose and you get an answer.

and Ned, I respectfully disagree. Emerson Lake and Palmer is as unfunky as you can be.

Emerson Lake and Palmer is as unfunky as you can be.

Now this is very true.

The Billy Bass interview in the new Wax P is really great!

yeah I just read that at lunch - he's the man. And friendlier than one might expect.

Billy Bass' voice sounds exactly like antonio fargas'. talking to him on the phone is like entering a starsky and hutch rerun.
