ok, so what's the story on ARMAGEDDON

i know it's a british label active from the late 70s to the early 80s.

i know they released records by half japanese, the method actors, schlaflose nächte, chris knox, kimberly rew, soft boys, and i'm sure others i'm blanking on right now. and that they supposedly became Aftermath records at some point and lost at least half japanese and the method actors Press Records.

who's got the lowdown on Armageddon/Aftermath? anybody got the skinny on Press records? why is there no real info on the net for a label that released so many famous acts?

Some close to classic stuff on this label. I think they're the ones that put out an insane Half-Japanese box set as their first release. The Soft Boys, "Underwater Moonlight is of course classic and I have a fond spot for the Method Actors, an Athens, Georgia band working the same rhythmic white-boy funk as Pylon, though Pylon were better and stranger. The Blurt LP is worth checking out if you can find it. Released a few Robyn Hitchcock records too. Don't know where you could find a discography.
