but as for earplugs at shows - i put on a Dagons show once (v. loud) and bought a $20 box of 100 cheap industrial earplugs and sold 'em for cheap, cos I really worry about ppl's hearing. especially if i'm putting on the show. it is irreversible. not everyone arrives at a show prepared for what is gonna happen. i ended up giving out the rest of the box earplugs at a particularly ferocious republic of safety show.
i notice in chapel hill that bars sell earplugs in candy dispensers. I always thought that was rad.
