Has anyone ever thought of buying a bunch of ear plugs and then selling them at noise shows?

..because i think all the girlfriends (and, okay, me) that spend the entire show with their fingers stuck in their ears are an untapped, lucrative demographic. you wouldn't even have to rip people off. even selling them at $2 a piece, you could make @ $140 profit if you buy in bulk (or more if you buy the crappiest ones).

good idea?

I had my fingers in my ears at a noise show last night. I enjoyed the noise a great deal nonetheless. Occasionally I would wander out onto the front lawn of the house to hear what it sounded like outside. If I had brought my earplugs I would have worn them.

I really like the tendency for short sets and 3" CDs among the noize folx these days.

but as for earplugs at shows - i put on a Dagons show once (v. loud) and bought a $20 box of 100 cheap industrial earplugs and sold 'em for cheap, cos I really worry about ppl's hearing. especially if i'm putting on the show. it is irreversible. not everyone arrives at a show prepared for what is gonna happen. i ended up giving out the rest of the box earplugs at a particularly ferocious republic of safety show.

i notice in chapel hill that bars sell earplugs in candy dispensers. I always thought that was rad.
