Anyone else really digging the new album? I like the first EP well enough, the album that followed not so much, but this one is really good.

DID ANYONE ELSE LIKE TEH ALBUM?

Because it is good.

I want to get it - I liked the first two a lot.

What's the new one like?

They have a new singer who sings in the English folk style - you know, that people know from Sandy Denny and others though maybe it's a traditional style. The band isn't really doing English folk-rock; it's still sort of eclectic postmodern rock, but with that singing on top. Anyway, the songs are really good - this album took me by surprise.

They might have some tracks from it up on their myspace, btw.

I ordered it a few days ago and can't wait to get it.

Their myspace page does indeed have some new songs up, and Fluxblog posted a new track ("I Mean Wow") last week.

I'm playing it right now! I like it although I'm not sure what sort of staying power it'll have. I also saw them play on Thursday, to a crowd of people who mostly had no idea who they were. They have a charming dry wit

The new one is IEP's weakest, I'm sorry to say. Nay to the vocals.

Calling it a day -- this was posted on MySpace earlier:

As some of you may know Simon is moving to the mysterious Orient so IEP will play it's farewell concert (for a good while) on 07/07/07 at the Albert, Brighton.

Special guests are Burning Idiot Noise, Shrag, and DJ Jim "Sonic" Smith providing the interlude music.

Doors are at 8 and it's a mere 5 pounds (4 pounds concs.) to see three great bands, one DJ legend, and Ted dance.

Thanks to all of you who have supported us over the years.

Hope to see you there.

Oh, that'll be the end of that then. I know some Burning Idiot Noise guys, I might go to that gig.
