Didn't somebody write an article/shoot a documentary on searching for the REAL Girl From Ipanema?

I seem to remember hearing about someone traveling to Rio and hanging out on a street near Ipanema beach for a few days in search of one single female that could possible embody the character in the legendary song and then retelling the story in print.

Sounds like a really stupid idea unless someone really great did it.

Am I imagining this?

I read an article in... GQ?.. a few years ago where someone did just what you said, traveled looking for that girl. I really don't remember much about it other than the fact that he spent a lot of time at the beach and was able to reassure the girls that he was, in fact, gay so they had nothing to worry about his intentions.
