NEUROSIS heads to the studio!
Neurosis will enter the studio in December to record their next album. Once again they will be returning to Electrical Audio in Chicago with engineer Steve Albini.
The sounds emanating from the rehearsal room are frighteningly strange and not very nice.

"Many exciting announcements from the Neurosis camp!"
i would SO send my kids to Neurosis camp. sweat lodges. 24 hour drum circle. mushroom identification. pagan woodcarving. i think they would learn a lot.

scott, do you give your kids music listening education at home ;-)
What do they make of the music? what are their faves?

cyrus is too little to care about anything much. he likes jaunty tunes to dance to. rufus, who is almost four, does not like "monster music" at all. his favorite genre is C&W. his favorite songs are "Convoy" and "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star".

I'm so glad my parents played good music for me when I was a kid. I still think one of the highest compliments I can give a piece of music is to say "I'd play it for my kids someday".
I guess what I'm saying is: good on ya, Scott.

they hear so much stuff. i don't know what it's gonna do to them. and i keep wondering how they are gonna rebel when they are older! they would have to be polka fans or something. or be in on a big smashing pumpkins revival.
i was also lucky enough to grow up in a house with tons of music playing and all that. it definitely had an effect on me!

Can't honestly say what effect the music I heard as a kid had on me... I do remember being vaguely confused that none of the other kids had ever heard "Senses Working Overtime" or "O Superman", but the only lingering consequence seems to be that I know every inch of
Graceland by heart and get bombarded by hazy half-imagined childhood memories whenever I listen to it.
