'guitarmy' by the blood brothers in fairness does not belong there.

neither does 'hit' by guided by voices (as much as i love it)

I'm normally careful about this, but the 4-second 'combinations' track between 'A Peculiar Noise Called "Train Director"' and 'Hideaway' (on OTC's 'Black Foliage') has somehow clocked up 14 unintentional listens. When you're sandwiched between two of the best tracks on the album it's a cushy number, I can tell ya.

I'm astounded that anyone pays attention to their 25 top played.

(not that mine is even CLOSE to my top 25. It'll need at LEAST thirteen more listens for THAT to happen.) ;-)

Does Top 25 on iTunes only count plays where you directly click on the song itself? That's what it seems like.

Most of the songs on my list are songs I've put on mixes and therefore listen to small parts of a bunch of times in a row to try to match it with good preceding and following tracks.

The shortest selection to ever make the Top 25 on my iTunes is the infamous tape of trumpeter Freddie Hubbard drunkenly cussing out a live audience. Naturally, I've titled it "Fuck You." It never got past #21, but when I play it, it's usually three or four times in a row.

My iTunes counts everything that plays from start to finish. No finish, no stats.

doesn't need to play from start to finish, though. only needs to finish. every time a song ends, the itunes counter counts, no matter how little of the song you listened to.
