anyone else heard this? been listening to this album a ton for the past couple months. don't want to oversell it but for me it echoes a lot of country/rock/blues classics (Gram, Stones, Sahm, etc) in a really effortless, non-rip-off way. (any way I try to describe it seems to make it sound like some back-page-of-No Depression alt country junk, but srsly it's been YEARS since I could deal with any of that stuff and I love this.) comes out in Nov. on Social Registry

thots?

I've enjoyed everything I've heard from him, but school me further on this new one. Did those crazy Social Reg cats put up any mp3s? Is this with a band or solo?

Wow, just visited the Myspace page, if those mp3s are indicative, this is gonna be a great album. Very impressive. Since the otherwise fantastic Zerbo is flaky with the trade action, I will be buying this when it comes out.

it's with a band but I don't know who plays on it

the first track on the myspace ("Oh Baby No") is maybe my favorite off the record along with "Which Witch" (almost VU-ish with a real psychey instro break toward the end) and "Sunday Night" ....

See, and I was kinda favoring the title track so far. Thanks for the heads up on this, dmr, it's made 'the list.'

Curious to hear him in a band setting. His solo debut didn't really hook me, but I could see him working better in a band setting.
