I can't resist. Let's see what I remember without looking at my CDs.

1. Shift Work. For "Rose", opening track, "A Lot Of Wind", "High Tension Line", "Pittsvile Direct", "Idiot Joy Showland"s lyrics, and generally high quality throughout.

2. The Light User Syndrome. For "Spinetrak" (OMG), "Das Vulture", "Cheetham Hill", and general lack of filler again.

3. Extricate. For "Sing! Harpy", the title track, "Bill Is Dead", "Popcorn Double Feature", and the Monks covers. Loses points for "Hilary".

4. Code: Selfish. "...Business School", "Immortality", "Return", now my memory is running dry.

5. Levitate. For that amazing "4 1/2 Inch" track or whatever it is, "I'm A Mummy", "Jungle Rock", and that awesome instrumental ("Spencer Must Die"?). Bad filler on this one though.

6. The Infotainment Scan. "Curse" fucking rules, "Lost In Music", hmmm... "Fireworks" might be their worst filler track from this era (cue impassioned ILM defense).

7. Middle Class Revolt. I really like a lot of this one. "War", "Hey Student", "M51", "Reckoning", another Monks cover. ""51 Ways" sucks hard though, as does the ridiculous "Junk Man".

8. Cerebral Caustic. "Don't Call Me Darling", "Bonkers In Phoenix" (LOVE IT), "Life Just Bounces", and a drastic decline on side 2.

9. The Marshall Suite. I like the first track and track 7, that's about it. Can't remember their names either.

Crew Filth!

Fact about "Crew Filth" - backing track is a pre-programmed demonstration track on some cheap keyboard. A friend of mine had this very keyboard so I recognized it!

outsider's bonus for "Sinister Waltz" and "27 points"

When I saw the might-ee Fall on the Infotainment Scan US tour, they had a stage set, man - cute little clouds suspended from the ceiling. And on Cerebral Caustic, Mark is seen walking down the street with a pair of wings attached to his back and in some kinda Cupid get-up in another photo.

Wow, you mean that's what you get if you buy it?

You know Bob Dylan released his 44th album this year and I was trying to figure out how that competes with the amount of Fall albums. Then I realized I would be stuck counting the live reissues and stuff like that, so I didn't bother. I think I'm going to count them now though. No, even with extra live albums, looking at allmusic I only came up with 42.

That "15th Anniversary" wallpaper on the allmusic site is really annoying.

Well I must have tried 15 times to find this thread using the search function. No matter what I did it wouldn't work. So I had to find it myself, very annoying. Don't know why...I put in "Fall albums" too..argh.

Anyway I wanted to say that upon doing some further investigation it's actually Cerbral Caustic I used to have on tape as the album w/Brix on, but I'd forgotten I had it. But I remembered enough of the songs to know it was true.

Anyway the real point is that I just listened to two songs from Light User Syndrome and unlike any other 90's Fall I know of, my head was completely taken off. Now that's one of the few albums from this list that I never owned, not even once.

I actually really liked "The Twenty-Seven Points."

Extricate--I like "Hilary" dammit! And the covers!

I think it is a testament to the strength of these albums that Douglas' list is almost the inverse of mine.

I must say I am terribly embarassed at this moment that I had never heard the Light User Sydrome before now. I can only apologize to the mighty Fall or something. Damn, what an album. I mean what a delightful effort considering this was 90's Fall. Just can't believe my ears. Heavy brilliance.
