I'm thinking about seeing Amy Millan in Vancouver next week. I like Stars but I haven't really listened to Honey from the Tombs, even though it's been out a while. What was you all's take on the album? I don't know if I should spend the money

The album is pretty meh. Very middle-of-the-road singer-songwriter stuff (and I like a lot of middle-of-the-road singer-songwriters). It's not bad but it's just there. STARS are one of those bands I love on album but I find absolutely repellant live (too much obnoxious ego and faux showmanship by all involves). I skipped when she was in town.

I think the album is great - not quite as strong as a Stars album, but that doesn't mean it's not amazing.

I LOVE Stars live, although I know many indie types who aren't into Torq's arch and professional performance style - didn't bother me in the least. Most importantly, they always *sound* amazing.
