Hit songs with instrumental choruses.

How many of these can you think? I'm assuming of course that the songs still have sung verses, and the chorus doesn't have to be totally vocalless, just that the actual chorus melody is instrumental and not sung. Here's the first three to come to mind:

Gerry Rafferty: "Baker Street"
Europe: "Final Countdown"
Van Halen: "Jump"

Several AC/DC songs probably qualify as well.

There's been a thread on this recently, I suggest searching for "Party Fears Two" by The Associates if you wanna find it.

But "Party Fears Two" is mentioned in every single ilx thread at some point or other!

Lori & The Chameleons' "Touch" sprang to my mind. Kindof a hit.

Duran Duran, "All She Wants Is"

Isn't the sax solo on "Baker Street" an instrumental fill more than a chorus?

I would say the chorus goes like this:

You used to think that it was so easy
You used to say that it was so easy
But you're tryin, you're tryin now
Another year and then you'd be happy
Just one more year and then you'd be happy
But you're cryin', you're cryin now

Or is that the bridge?

Anyway, "Just Can't Get Enough" by Depeche Mode certainly fits in to some extent (unless

Not instrumental, but not a lot of lyrics either: "Life In a Northern Town" by Dream Academy.

"Listen To What The Man Said" by Wings is the best one.

Live and Let Die's instrumental bit is a bit chorus-y too, isn't it?

"jump"'s chorus isn't fully instrumental. you've still got dave going "might as well jump," etc.

isn't the part where they say "it's the final countdown" part of the chorus of the final countdown?
