I say it's both a shower and a grower - "When U Were Mine" and "Under Pressure" provide the flashy novelty come-ons (and even if Under Pressure doesn't quite come together, it's at least an interesting take), but it's ultimately "The River" (now with more haunting!) and "Sunday Morning Coming Down" (now with more hangover!) that make it a keeper.

"Solitary Man" rescues a great song from fauxggae hell, but Chris Isaak already pulled that one off.

I'm sure some will say that, taken as a whole, the EP needs more banjo.

"When U Were Mine" is the only song I've heard off of it but I love it. I think it totally works on a non-novelty level. If the rest are as good or better, I'll have to check it out.
