I don't know the Criminal Justice Bill. Have they got any records out?

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Tuesday, 10 October 2006 07:39 (nineteen years ago)

I thought they were talking about the appalling line-up for the Justice gig?

WOHA MUST CANCEL WIRE SUBSCRIPTION NOW. I'm off to the magazine shop and rub my body all over with NME. I'm all about intellektual fetishism.

PIL! SHARROCK! ONO! Oh my! I'm shuffling on my seat with excited. Can not control myself!

norm youd love the big boys

chaki (chaki), Tuesday, 10 October 2006 08:59 (nineteen years ago)

I bought it today for the first time in about two years! Mostly out of curiosity about the CD on the front. It's not anywhere near as bad as it was back then (still not exactly good mind). Although its entertaining to watch the NME going 'OMG rave rave MDMA glowsticks!' Almost as entertaining as their thinly disguised 'Kerrrang! smells' anti-emo stance.

WTF are the Manics still doing in there though? Surely they are the least fashionable band in the world these days?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 10 October 2006 18:48 (nineteen years ago)

Seriously, are the Klaxons the best thing IPC can come up with the combat the EMO SELF-HARM MENACE?

Sadly, he will be the next Alexis Petridish. (Dom Passantino), Tuesday, 10 October 2006 19:01 (nineteen years ago)

"these days"

xpost

benrique (Enrique), Tuesday, 10 October 2006 19:06 (nineteen years ago)

I quite like the Klaxons, as long as you accept they're not rave in the slighest. Mostly because of the possibility they might luckily stumble across a really good album by getting a load of good producers in.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 10 October 2006 19:12 (nineteen years ago)

Do you think Ver Kidz will go for it though? Especially as indie kids prefer coke to E these days. Apparently.

Sadly, he will be the next Alexis Petridish. (Dom Passantino), Tuesday, 10 October 2006 19:18 (nineteen years ago)

Gold star to you.

eyethankyou.

last time i knew any indie kids, people still did speed; but as with the manics, i'm sure it's been away and back and maybe away again since then.

benrique (Enrique), Tuesday, 10 October 2006 20:11 (nineteen years ago)

Can we have "Masses Against The Classes" at the next Club Popular?

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Wednesday, 11 October 2006 07:06 (nineteen years ago)

I had a quick look at NME today in Smiths and the My Chemical Romance album got 9/10 and apparently it ranks alongside the classics of modern american rock like Nirvana , Smashing Pumpkins and um American Idiot by Green Day.

If people want real indie rave, then it's all about the Hadouken remix of the Klaxons. The CD is good to very good, but it's still mostly just disco-punk.

I.M. From Hollywood (i_m_from_hollywood), Thursday, 12 October 2006 16:43 (nineteen years ago)

Talking about the Simian Mobile Disco mix CD that comes with the NME.

I like that CD too- the Emperor Machine track is excellent.

Vaguely Threatening CAPTCHAs, Friday, 19 September 2008 22:40 (seventeen years ago)

it sucks that since Tom bought the NME he hasn't really made any changes, editorially or content-wise. Still the same old same old.
